Requesting an Office Fitout Melbourne; Easygo is an Australian start-up software development company that commenced in 2016 and has now gone Global. They focus on disruptive technology within the online and physical gaming sector.




Brief

As a start-up with conservative funds to spend, the business leased premises in the Melbourne CBD to commence their business venture.

The initial space was a modest, standard commercial office space. But soon after commencement, the business started to flourish.

With the desire to create a workspace in which they would enjoy working and that would appeal to their young IT specialists, they engaged IN2 SPACE Interior Design & Project Management for their Melbourne office fitout. The aim was to transform their offices into a current, relevant and socially stimulating workplace.

The workplace is a dynamic space consisting of flexible work environments, dedicated desks, meeting rooms, project spaces, media studios and event spaces.

Workspace 365 is a wholly Australian owned + run Service + Co-working provider. They offer quality office spaces + services nationally in prime CBD locations + pride themselves on their 5-star service ethic.

Their centres provide flexible workspaces including flexi + fixed desking, private offices, team rooms, a wide range of Meeting rooms, Training rooms + Boardrooms with video conferencing facilities.


Brief

The brief provided to IN2 SPACE Interior Design and Project Management, detailed requirements for the creation of their latest facility to be the flagship office workspace for their prime CBD Melbourne location.

The commercial interior design of the space needed to cater for various diverse working, brainstorming + collaborative areas as well as private activities enveloped in a plush low key relaxed atmosphere often found only in premium function centre facilities within prestigious hotels.

Workspace 365 pride themselves on creating bespoke workspace centres, each with their own personality.  Aided by their extensive experience in operating these facilities nationally, IN2 Space worked closely with the Client to achieve the efficiency, space proportions + allocations best required for their business model + who they were wanting to target. Substantial thought + planning went into achieving the most appropriate + effective allocation of space + function to achieve this balance.

Workspace 365 chose IN2 SPACE Interior Design and Project Management as their preferred Commercial Interior Designer in Melbourne to complete this memorable office fitout project with them.

IN2 SPACE provided a complete office fitout design service comprising of Commercial Interior Design + Documentation for the Melbourne workspace.

The commercial design solution allowed Workspace 365 to be accommodated in an inviting, low key luxurious + modern environment showcasing its ability to function as a flexible + efficient Co-working space.

 

It was decided to totally strip out the existing office space of its standard office appearance which comprised of standard carpet tiles, suspended ceiling tiled grid + standard fluorescent tube lighting.  A new air-conditioning system, new specialty lighting + relocated fire services were provided for the space.  All services were exposed in the open spaces + an extensive WAP system was installed to negate the use of an elaborate structured data cabling system.

 

The commercial fitout is located over 2 levels with the main floor housing the centrally located Reception Breakout Space with open views across to the building perimeter giving the space an inviting + inclusive atmosphere.  Meeting rooms are well apportioned + have a luxurious hotel feel with various styles of meeting + working spaces provided.  An open + airy feeling throughout has been achieved by using glass extensively for the Office fronts + doors.

The second floor continues with its own centrally located breakout space + lounge, flanked by a mix of flexi + fixed work desks, offices + meetings rooms.

 

We achieved the resultant Low Key Luxe Hotel feel with Mood LED Lighting fitted onto black exposed grid ceilings, exposed concrete floors that were machined + clear epoxy coated + feature lighting strategically placed to define + separate various zones.  A clean warm color pallet was chosen to create continuity + cohesion throughout + between the floors.  Touches of greenery in the form of planter walls were located at various locations to soften the space + provide visual privacy.

With a combination of flush plasterboard ceilings in offices for acoustic privacy + an open shell + exposed services approach in common areas, it has an extremely relaxed yet professional dynamic energy about it.

 

The completed Melbourne office fitout showcases the collaboration between IN2 SPACE Interior Design and Project Management + the Client with their extensive experience + knowledge to deliver a beautifully curated + considered office fitout that carries with it elements of low key luxury, comfort + modernity.

Ergonomic height adjustable desking, low height desk screens + the bare minimum of walls populate the area.  One large flexible multipurpose meeting room was created to support training + meeting requirements with numerous other diverse meeting spaces throughout the floor to supplement the businesses collaboration + meeting needs.

Importantly various teams were given the opportunity to have input in the selection + purchase of some furniture + fittings + this has provided staff with a feeling of ownership + direct contribution to their space.

Leading Commercial Refurbishment | Envato

Company

Envato is a value-based organisation focused on community, entrepreneurship, diversity, and integrity. It is the world’s leading marketplace and largest global community for creative digital assets and creative people.


Brief

The brief given to IN2 SPACE was to refurbish the existing Envato Melbourne Headquarters to allow the nurturing + growth of the already dynamic culture of the organisation + to facilitate a layout that would allow business structures and collaborations to operate effectively whilst providing flexibility to cater for business shifts.

The business is housed in a space that has individual and unique characteristics with exposed steel columns and high volume concrete beamed slab ceilings fitted out with acoustic drop panels for improved sound ecology.

Outcome

The design solution arrived at by IN2 SPACE was to introduce feature colours to identify neighbourhoods over several floors and create breakout spaces as part of a dynamic and extremely flexible layout allowing for its various groups + functions to change + shift as required whilst maintaining integration, cohesion and collaboration.

Working in close collaboration with a street artist and a stylist, IN2 SPACE coordinated and set the tone and direction for the office space.

Strong bold colours were used to create colour themed neighbourhoods over the 3 floors. Personal lockers in each area echo the neighbourhood’s identifying colour. Street style art graphics were also employed on walls to create focal points to punctuate the space.

The breakout spaces are reminiscent of Moroccan bazaars furnished with eclectic and quirky items to reinforce the creative + forward thinking nature of the business and its staff.

Materials and finishes such as minimally treated concrete floor slabs, clear lacquered plywood privacy panels, exposed concrete surfaces, polished timber floor boards + exposed pendant light fittings were chosen to compliment the industrial feel of the space and reinforce the relaxed nature of the business.

The morale + enthusiasm of the staff in the business has risen enormously + the workspace has an extremely stimulating and exciting dynamic associated with it.

Company

Bicycle Network is an independent, not-for-profit organisation working to get more people cycling more often with offices located Nationally. The main commercial office is located in Melbourne.


Brief

The brief provided to IN2 SPACE detailed bringing together its current dislocated spaces scattered over a few buildings within Melbourne, onto one entire floor in a new building facility located in the CBD.

The idea was to create an office fitout in Melbourne which would provide a catalyst to refresh the culture + create a dynamic, innovative, professional yet inviting, stimulating + functional space.

The space was to showcase the fact that they were a professional + relevant business entity servicing the recreational sport of cycling.

The new layout + appearance of the space was to reflect the reinvigorated culture that the CEO wanted to instill into the business. Mainly comprising of young professionals, the new culture + space was to appeal + fit in with the current practices + importantly provide a base to build upon + grow the business for the future.

Directed predominantly by the MD the brief was implicit in requesting that the business was to be housed in a space that was not just a normal office building but a space that had individual and unique characteristics.

The building that was chosen as the flagship for the organisation was a refurbished warehouse in Southbank. The architecture of the building was such that it possessed high volume concrete beamed slab ceilings in one area + timber saw-tooth detailed roofs in other areas with unique metal framed factory style window frames.

The design solution arrived at by IN2 SPACE allowed GCC to be accommodated in a dynamic and extremely flexible layout allowing for its various groups + functions to change + shift as required whilst maintaining integration, cohesion and collaboration.

The funky warehouse space reinforces the youthful + forward thinking nature of the business.

Materials and finishes such as minimally treated concrete floor slabs, clear lacquered plywood, exposed concrete surfaces, polished timber floor boards + exposed pendant light fittings were chosen to compliment the industrial feel of the space and reinforce the relaxed nature of the business.

Various new surfaces such as desk tops, workstation screen fabrics and joinery were specified in clean white + minimal patterns to simplify the look of the space. Strong bold colours were used in graphic glazing film sparingly to accentuate areas.

The breakout space occupies the top floor + comprises a well designed staff entertainment area with table tennis table, treadmills, communal gathering tables, couches + a basketball ring.

Brief

The brief given to IN2 SPACE was to create a Headquarters to reflect their style + standing in the industry + to showcase what they bring to their projects. MD Projects pride themselves in being contemporary + modern in their detailing, + meticulous +professional in their execution. They wanted their headquarters to highlight + celebrate these strengths.

Outcome

The design solution arrived at by IN2 SPACE delivered a modern industrial fitout with an open layout, integrated breakout space + dedicated meeting spaces for the company’s various functions.
Materials + finishes such as polished timber floors, exposed brick surfaces, exposed mechanical ceiling services + modern pendant light fittings were chosen to compliment the industrial feel of the space +reinforce the dynamic nature of the business.

Extensive use of framed glazing for the meeting rooms was used to maximise light + maintain visual connection to the rest of the space. The company’s corporate color was strategically applied throughout the fitout for visual cohesion. Black was also used to define structural details + to give the space an industrial feel. Greenery was then used strategically to soften the spaces + create filtered privacy in selected areas.

The breakout space in particular has an urban café feel achieved with the extensive use of black with touches of timber + an open planter wall to provide privacy without compromising the transparency + connection of the space.

The MD Projects team completed all the bespoke timber joinery, custom feature carpentry + cladding at their new headquarters. It was a great opportunity to showcase their attention to detail +high quality workmanship. They are delighted with the outcome and they are looking forward to moving in to their new centrally located workspace.

Brief

To refurbish the existing common lobby and hallway space in order to align the interior with the objectives and current standing of the science and learning faculty.

The space requires more prominent branding and to be presented as a dynamic, intelligent, young, fresh and current space. The department wants to convey an appearance so as it is also viewed as a commercially viable and professional entity.

A clean, modern colour palette, reflective in the school’s current logo design, and natural materials, is to be used throughout the space.

The department deals in various areas of study related to the human brain and would like to feature this innovative work and engage visitors, staff and students alike by displaying in its common area.

The Monash University school require their basic finishes and colour palette to be used in the selection of carpet and other more permanent finishes for the renovations. The University’s standard colour palette is relatively neutral and accordingly, our colour and finishes selections are required to coordinate and work well with those finishes.

Our vision, objectives and philosophy for the space was realised in producing a space which was functional, dynamic and transparent yet clean an uncluttered in appearance with splashes of colour and movement throughout.

The discipline of neuroscience deals with the brain, concepts of intelligence and scientific learning around this area. The brain, in layman’s terms consists of groups of neurons being a series of small particles floating in a contained matter with enormous amounts of surrounding space to create an abundance of paths and connections.

The concept for the space and the Fitout Elements throughout that space emulates the dynamics of a functioning brain. The space conveys movement, an openness and a sense of transparency.

Items such as webbed structures, coloured transparent glass, meshed type furniture and large graphic imagery simulating brain function neuropathic connections were used.

Strong and visible branding for both the School of Psychological Sciences and the Monash Institute of Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences (MICCN) was reinforced especially in both areas exiting from the lifts and approaching various contact points/reception functioning areas.

By Employing items such as super-sized wall graphic images and flat screen displays we provided an avenue to display current information and inform of up-and-coming events. Those items also assist in providing movement, colour and changing visual interest in the space.

Since the area is shared by 2 related disciplines of study and research, it visually reflect those 2 areas:

  • School of Psychological Sciences
  • Monash Institute of Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences – MICCN

In de-cluttering the existing space we moved bins and chairs out of sight which were currently in the passages.

We removed wall display/pin-boards from walls and replaced them with dynamic flat screen displays informing visitors of the works being undertaken in the areas of study.

The department and senior personnel are extremely excited with the outcome and the department also now presents as a professional body and hence attracts additional funding and support.

COTY is a business with offices worldwide. From their inception in 1904 they became a Global Leader in Beauty and have built a unique portfolio of beauty brands that have produced some of the strongest consumer franchises in history.


Brief

The existing business was accommodated in small commercial offices in Box Hill + they were looking to relocate to a new commercial office space in an area that would align with their brand and project their desired image within their industry.

The suburb of Richmond was chosen for the relocation and fitout + the space secured was in a new + fashionable yet unique and design oriented space.

The brief provided to IN2 SPACE detailed the company’s desire to be accommodated in a fashion that would highlight its long standing reputation as a provider of highly successful beauty products to the consumer industry.

Inefficiencies in the existing layout of their commercial office space in Melbourne + a lack of appropriate facilities were crucial areas to be addressed in order to achieve the desired outcome.

Business partners would be attending the space for product training sessions so the premises needed to cater for various types of groups.

They needed a facility that would be versatile + that they could be proud to showcase.

Most of their clients were female + historically will be female so that needed to be kept in mind for the final outcome.

IN2 SPACE provided a complete Design + Documentation service for the company’s move into to their Melbourne fitted out space.

The building chosen for the new offices was new, fashionable yet unique + a design oriented space.

IN2 SPACE enjoyed exploiting + accentuating the building’s best characteristics; unveiling a raw concrete ceiling, suspended feature light fittings + part of the natural concrete slab. The use of exposed building services complimented the overall clean, warehouse-style look that was achieved.

The overall impact achieved was a dynamic energetic one with imagery + mood lighting used to further add impact.

The space was functional + catered for the ever growing staff numbers with areas provided for showcasing their products, training + hosting business partners.

The colour palette used was understated and combined with the finishes, achieved a warm yet visually exciting interior.

Company

Face to Face Medical is a professional non-surgical cosmetic skin medical clinic + training facility.


Brief

An old Victorian property was chosen to be the new practice space for the clinic. The clinic was to house consulting suites + training facilities. The requirement for the clinic interior was to be a simple yet elegant space retaining an understated authenticity to the period of the property. The medical suites were to be professional, functional + apportioned with all modern requirements + facilities. All services to the property were to be upgraded.

Outcome

Face to Face Medical chose IN2 SPACE as their preferred commercial interior design & project management firm in Melbourne to complete this exciting refurbishment project with them.

IN2 SPACE provided a complete Design + Construct service comprising of Commercial Interior Design, Documentation, Construction, Project Management + the supply of furniture + fittings for the Melbourne clinic.

This historic period property interior was remodelled + refurbished. All the services including electrical, communications, security, lighting, heating + cooling were either upgraded or newly installed.

All door hardware was upgraded + an access control system was installed. Existing floor coverings were removed + a modern new floor was provided. Walls, doors + surfaces were simplified and an elegant white painted treatment applied to surfaces. A new insulation backed serviceable floor covering was installed over the existing.

Art work was chosen + provided for the space.

Most of the original period features were retained in the refurbished interior but their appearance were simplified + modernised, + this resulted in an elegant + uncluttered space.

Face to Face medical are excited with the outcome of the refurbishment + it has allowed the practice to achieve the desired look for the space + to function efficiently providing it with the flexibility to undertake both practice + training functions going forward into the future.
